Embedded Researchers as Part of a Whole Systems Approach to Physical Activity: Reflections and Recommendations

Whole systems approaches are increasingly being advocated as a way of responding to complex public health priorities such obesity and physical inactivity. Due the adaptive nature systems, researchers embedded within host organisations (i.e., those which facilitate whole approach) work with key stakeholders illuminate understand mechanisms change develop culture continuous improvement. While previous literature has reported on benefits challenges in care, little is known about experiences learnings situated these approaches.
